Latest Projects

If you’re wondering what we’ve been up to, take a look at some of our latest projects:

Here at 5 element design, we love to support small businesses like ourselves so we were pleased to work with this Nail and Beauty Therapist to design a logo then apply it to a range of stationery, including a price list, business card and letterhead.

At 5 element design, we believe in a culture of equality, with freedom from discrimination and persecution. We are proud to donate our energies to helping Hastings Pride 2017 with the designs for their posters, flyers and the official programme. We wish Hastings all the best for their inaugural parade and festival!

Hastings Pride is a free-to-attend festival with events curated across the area, organised for and by the local LGBTQ+ community, their friends and allies. It is supported by the donations and sponsorship of companies and individuals so please give what you can to ensure this event continues to be free and open to everyone that supports the LGBTQ+ right to equality in law and society:

The lovely Selena Collins hired us to help create her brand identity and online presence. She provided abstract images for inspiration along with the request for the logo to include the Moon (in reference to her name) and we evolved that into a final logo (with bamboo representing acupuncture needles), website and business cards. The website for Kaguya Acupuncture can be found here:

The Kings Road Studio is a newly-opened space in the heart of St Leonards on Sea that offers classes and workshops in Yoga, Shiatsu, Qigong, Capoeira and Meditation. We worked with the Kings Road Studio collective to design a logo and theme that would be reflected in the modifications to the chosen WordPress installation for their website. The site itself is hosted by us and we provide a portfolio of email forwarders for each of the teachers and workshop hosts involved in the business.

Our close relationship with the Shiatsu College Hastings continues into 2016 and we have produced a range of marketing and publicity material to promote their courses in Shiatsu, Acupressure, Qigong Teacher Training, Meridian Yoga Teacher Training, and various workshops and classes in the Hastings and St Leonards area. We redesigned their logo with the standard Shiatsu College font but kept the wave motif, this time inspired by the artwork we created for their online anatomy, physiology and pathology course.

The logo is paired with an image of Hastings Pier that evokes the local feel of the branch and these have been developed onto a poster as well as a re-designed leaflet that showcases what the Shiatsu College Hastings has to offer.

We have been working with Allied Welding and Engineering Supplies for over 4 years, having originally established a full eCommerce site for them. In the time since then, we have helped them to grow their online product catalogue and increase their sales and web presence as a result. Allied Welding are a company that has traditional values but they are also embracing the future potential of their company so commissioned us to upgrade their site for 2016!

The catalogue itself is now built on a more flexible and user-friendly platform and the design of the site is much cleaner and easy to navigate. To enhance the new look, we developed a style of banner adverts that reflect the brand identity and we have started to create a series of videos that showcase the variety of products available through their online shop (with custom logo titles that are also displayed on the site!). Looking good, Allied!

Although initially commissioned to create a website and logo for the Me Within Me healing practice, we were able to engage in one of our favourite ways of doing business – connecting and working with a client to develop the project in an organic and mutually appreciative way. The logo was the heart of the concept and it went through many changes before it reached the point of maturity. Additional imagery and an understanding of the energy of the practice allowed us to guide the process of expanding into a complete brand identity that perfectly reflected the client and their focus.

The website itself was set up to be initially minimal with the potential for growth and we are advising the Me Within Me team on how to adjust content and style for maximum and appropriate engagement with customers as well as the workings of the internet. We have also been entrusted with various marketing assignments, with a tri-fold leaflet being the main item of physical publicity distributed to the target area. Complementary stationery such as business cards and letterheads add to the overall package.

Having been very pleased with websites that we created for them in the past, Memorial Service Ltd commissioned us to undertake a substantial design project – an update of their main brochure. This is by far the most comprehensive offering of memorials and accessories in the UK and the 70 pages are packed with a range of quality headstones, kerb surrounds and other memorials.

5 element design worked closely with the team at Memorial Service to update the look of their brochure with a new colour palette, contemporary background with brushed metal styling, complementary cover design with custom lettering, and modernised layout. We also shot a range of professional photos for use in the brochure that captured the energy and essence of their busy UK-based workplace; these were so well received that Memorial Service asked us to create the cover for their new Price List based on one of these dynamic images.

The brochure has been distributed to a vast range of memorial consultants, trade customers and national funerary services throughout the world and the positive feedback is already pouring in! The processed memorial images will also be used on their official website, which you can visit at:

Having experienced our work on The Yasuragi Shiatsu Studio, we were commissioned to create custom signage for The Well Being Centre, a delightful outdoor venue offering various therapies, workshops and classes in Stone Cross, Eastbourne. The design process followed our usual organic style and was a pleasure to be involved in. We produced various signage that satisfied the needs of the clients as well as being true works of art.

We were supplied with wooden beams that had been taken from a 100-year-old railway carriage and we crafted these into the signs, retaining the original fixture holes as a reminder of their interesting past. The images and text were hand-painted from designs that were created and developed by us in consultation with the centre. Visitors to the site have remarked that the signs are “warm and homely” and that they perfectly encapsulate the spirit of the place while seeming like they had been there for years!

As part of the package, we also created a logo that included the design element of the two yurts and beech tree (focal points of the centre) as well as flyers for the opening weekend and the initial Summer season.

We were asked to redesign the signage for the Yasuragi Shiatsu Studio, a business offering complementary therapies in Eastbourne. The initial brief was to create custom signage for the outside of the building, which is housed in the Enterprise Shopping Centre.

The consultation process delivered the required designs and these were hand-painted onto canvas-covered board to produce an artistic feel and quality to the finished products. The clients were so pleased that they commissioned us to redecorate the outside of the premises in the same style, adding custom lettering to the windows as well.
